Seriously - I'm a vegan (found your blog through VeganMofo!) and I encourage others to explore the vegan lifestyle because I truly don't think it can do any harm to anyone. However - just as I get put off by people commenting on me eating "rabbit food" or "boring food" (so not true) I know that omnivores feel the same way about "heart attack on a plate" comments.
