Looking good in the packet |
Just like fish fingers they are simple to cook. We did our is the oven and I made up some sides of sautéed potatoes and french beans. A dollop of tomato ketchup completed the feel of nostalgia. Coming out of the oven they smelt a bit like fish fingers but the second we cut into them the illusion was shattered. Both the texture and the taste where totally off and I went back for a another dollop of ketchup just to make it taste of something. Stephens verdict was that the sautéed potatoes tasted fabulous.
It's like a plate right out of my childhood, when my Mum wasn't cooking. Sorry Mum (but honestly, you can't cook vegetables) |
We tend to have either big hits or big misses with the VBites. The Southern Fried Chicken Style are a huge favourite of mine but these fingers? A total miss. In the words of my little brother 'sad face'. Oh well, it was worth a try.
Pity, fishfingers are such an old fave! Thanks for the review :)
ReplyDeleteAww such a shame, I love these! If you're looking for something more traditionally fishy you guys should try the fish steaks, the texture is much closer to the real deal.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter loves these - me? Not so much. It's fine, more for her!
ReplyDeleteLooks like these are a love/hate thing then. We'll definitely try the Steaks some time!
